My name is Vincent Evans-Arlequin, and I am a Senior at Le Moyne College, pursuing a major in Cybersecurity with a concentration in Information & System Security, and a minor in Legal Studies.
At Le Moyne, I am deeply involved in campus leadership and professional development. I serve as an Associate Justice for the Student Government Association and as a Security Analyst for the college's I.T. Security Operations Center. I am also an active member of the Cybersecurity Club and ERIE21 Lock 3.
Recognized for academic excellence, I am a 2024 inductee of the Alpha Lambda Delta First-Year Honor Society and a 2023-24 Dean's Scholar. Additionally, I hold CompTIA ITF+ and A+ certifications and am a Licensed New York State Notary Public.
My professional experience includes expertise in customer service, Microsoft and Google productivity tools, Atlassian software, systems administration, documentation creation and management, information organization, vulnerability management, threat research, and project management.
CompTIA A+ is the industry standard for launching IT careers into today’s digital world. I achieved this certification in my Junior Year of High School as part of the Broome-Tioga BOCES Career & Technical Education IT Specialist Program.
CompTIA IT Fundamentals (ITF+) is an introduction to basic IT knowledge and skills that helps you determine whether you have what it takes to work in IT. I achieved this certification in my Junior Year of High School as part of the Broome-Tioga BOCES Career & Technical Education IT Specialist Program.
Notaries Public are "commissioned" (i.e., licensed) by the Secretary of State. Notarial functions include: administering oaths and affirmations; taking affidavits and depositions; receiving and certifying acknowledgments or proof of such written instruments as deeds, mortgages and powers of attorney; and; demanding acceptance or payment of foreign and inland bills of exchange, promissory notes and obligations in writing, and protesting the same for non-payment.
As part of my SOC 201: Research Methods class, I was required to write a traditional research paper, including a literature review, data collected via interviews, and analysis. I chose to conduct research on cybersecurity within a higher-education setting. I may come back to this project in the future for future development and research.
As part of my LGS 201: Introduction to Legal Studies class, I was required to write a seven page research paper on a topic of my choice. I wrote on the barriers that exist in accessing justice and the law.
As part of my CSC 175: Introduction to Algorithms & Program Design class, I was asked to create a program using Python Turtles which drew a circle, octagon, and pentagon - separately and overlaid upon each other (see image). Each shape is drawn separately, using a function for each shape. Source code can be found here.
As part of my CYS 330: Network Fundamentals class, my group was tasked with creating a network for a small medical practice. I was in charge of presenting our network's devices, and creating the project budget and project timeline.
As part of my ENG 210: Major Authors: Shakespeare class, I was tasked with writing a 12-page paper about ambiguities found within Shakespeare's Richard III and Henry VIII, as well as various interpretations that could be made based on these ambiguities.
As part of my CYS 263: Introduction to Cybersecurity Risk & Protection Strategies class, my group was tasked with conducting a full risk assessment for a small business. I specifically was tasked with presenting the table of risks, the likelihood and impact scales, and the risk register.
I assisted with writing a Broome County Resolution that was adopted on November 17, 2022, and signed into law by the County Executive on November 22, 2022.
