My name is Vincent Evans-Arlequin, and I am a Senior at Le Moyne College, pursuing a major in Cybersecurity with a concentration in Information & System Security, and a minor in Political Science.
At Le Moyne, I am deeply involved in campus leadership and professional development. I serve as an Associate Justice for the Student Government Association, a Security Analyst for the college's I.T. Security Operations Center, and a Cybersecurity Instructional Tutor for the college's Quantitative Reasoning Center. I am also an active member of the Cybersecurity & WiCYS Clubs and ERIE21's College Program (Lock 3).
Recognized for academic excellence, I was inducted into the Alpha Lambda Delta First-Year Honor Society in 2024 and named a Dean's Scholar for the 2023–24 and 2024–25 academic years. In addition, I hold CompTIA Security+, A+, and ITF+ certifications, am ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC), and am a licensed New York State Notary Public.
My professional experience includes expertise in customer service, Microsoft and Google productivity tools, Atlassian software, systems administration, documentation creation and management, information organization, vulnerability management, threat research, and project management.
CompTIA Security + is the premier global certification that establishes the essential skills required for core security functions and a career in IT security. It showcases professionals' capabilities in securing networks, applications, and devices, ensuring data integrity, confidentiality, and availability. CompTIA Security+ focuses on practical, hands-on skills to tackle real-world challenges. As the most widely recognized credential, it is invaluable for advancing in the dynamic field of cybersecurity. I achieved this certification during my third year of college with the support of the ERIE21 College Program.
The ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) credential demonstrates to employers that I possess the foundational knowledge, skills, and abilities required for an entry- or junior-level role in cybersecurity. It reflects my understanding of essential security principles, best practices, policies, and procedures, as well as my commitment to continuous learning and professional growth. The certification exam covers five core domains: Security Principles, Business Continuity (BC), Disaster Recovery (DR) & Incident Response Concepts, Access Control Concepts, Network Security, and Security Operations.
CompTIA A+ is the industry standard for launching IT careers into today’s digital world. I achieved this certification in my Junior Year of High School as part of the Broome-Tioga BOCES Career & Technical Education IT Specialist Program.
CompTIA IT Fundamentals (ITF+) is an introduction to basic IT knowledge and skills that helps you determine whether you have what it takes to work in IT. I achieved this certification in my Junior Year of High School as part of the Broome-Tioga BOCES Career & Technical Education IT Specialist Program.
Notaries Public are "commissioned" (i.e., licensed) by the Secretary of State. Notarial functions include: administering oaths and affirmations; taking affidavits and depositions; receiving and certifying acknowledgments or proof of such written instruments as deeds, mortgages and powers of attorney; and; demanding acceptance or payment of foreign and inland bills of exchange, promissory notes and obligations in writing, and protesting the same for non-payment.
As part of my SOC 201: Research Methods class, I was required to write a traditional research paper, including a literature review, data collected via interviews, and analysis. I chose to conduct research on cybersecurity within a higher-education setting. I may come back to this project in the future for future development and research.
As part of my LGS 201: Introduction to Legal Studies class, I was required to write a seven page research paper on a topic of my choice. I wrote on the barriers that exist in accessing justice and the law.
As part of my ENG 210: Major Authors: Shakespeare class, I was tasked with writing a 12-page paper about ambiguities found within Shakespeare's Richard III and Henry VIII, as well as various interpretations that could be made based on these ambiguities.
I assisted with writing a Broome County Resolution that was adopted on November 17, 2022, and signed into law by the County Executive on November 22, 2022.
